COMMITTEE REQUEST

You must apply each year for the committee(s) of your choice (that is whether you are currently on that committee or not).

Committee appointments are made in December; you will be notified via email if you have been selected. 

  • Please select a maximum of three committees and indicate your level of preference (1 being your first choice).

  • Convention Committee (2 Year Term)

    Plans and develops all aspects of the annual convention including developing the education curriculum, soliciting sponsors and booth participants; planning special events and experiences for the attendees. Meetings are scheduled as necessary by the Committee Chair.

  • Forms

    Promotes the use of standard forms by developing and revising current forms to comply with new policies and legislation; performs detailed review of contracts and addenda required for real estate transactions. Meets the 3rd Wednesday every other month, in-person, 3pm-4:30pm.

  • Education Committee

    Helps to plan new and exciting educational opportunities (e.g.: educational seminars; CE programs/courses); recommends speakers and topics for professional development. Meets the 1st Wednesday of every month, 10am.

  • Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity

    Promote equal opportunity in housing and real estate, develop programs that inform and promote awareness of cultural diversity among members, with the public, and in partnership with other real estate organizations. Meetings are scheduled as necessary by the Committee Chair

  • REALTOR® Community Service

    Plans, solicits sponsors, and organizes annual golf tournament and other events to benefit Anne Arundel Community College REALTOR® Endowment Fund, Harvest for the Hungry and many other charities. Meetings are scheduled as necessary by the Committee Chair.

  • Legislative (State Issues)

    Responsible for continuous review and analysis of proposed state legislation; and assures representation at hearings on important legislation; coordinates with State Association during legislative session; supports RPAC. Meets weekly on Monday mornings during legislative session (January-March).

  • REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC)

    Educates Members on the benefits of RPAC. Solicits funds to support those candidates for political office whom, by their voting record or interest, have displayed positive attitudes toward the real estate industry’s positions. Includes event planning. Meetings are scheduled as necessary by the Committee Chair.

  • County Legislative Committee

    Monitors and analyzes county legislation affecting the real estate industry and represents the Association at hearings; acquaints members with various county departments including the Office of Planning and Zoning. Meets the 2nd Wednesday every other month, in-person, 2pm-3pm.

  • Young Professionals Networking (YPN)

    Volunteers, plans, promotes, and attends events and activities for the YPN group. You will encourage development in the four key areas: leadership, real estate industry, peers, and community. Age is not a factor. Meets in-person monthly and the week before an event.

  • Professional Standards

    Members must have several years’ experience in the real estate industry. Mandatory training required
    Members must have several years’ experience in the real estate industry. Committee conducts hearings to resolve complaints of alleged unethical conduct and submits a report of findings with the recommendations for disciplinary action, if any, to the Board of Directors. Conducts arbitration hearings for business disputes between REALTOR® members of different firms.   • Grievance

    Members must have several years’ experience in the real estate industry.
    Reviews written complaints of unethical REALTOR® conduct and determines whether a hearing is required by the Professional Standards Committee; reviews arbitration requests and determines if the matter is arbitrable.
