How do I get a SentriCard?
New Members: You need to first join the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors (AACAR) to get a card. Once you are processed as a member, you will receive an email confirmation to schedule an appointment to receive your card. The card is needed to enter the lockboxes. You can complete the agreement when you come into our office or download and fill out the SentriLock Agreement and bring it in the office with you to the appointment.
Your email confirmation will let you know when you will be in the system to contact us to schedule the appointment.
Existing Members: If your card is lost, please schedule an appointment to get a replacement. You can contact the Key Administrator at 410-544-4554 for more information. If your card is not working, contact SentriLock directly at 877-736-8745.
How much does a SentriCard cost?
SentriLock card fees begin on April 1st and run through March 31st.
Please call AACAR at 410-544-4554 for current fees, as they are prorated quarterly.
Fees may be paid via credit card, check, cash, or money order. Checks and money orders should be made payable to AACAR.
You must call AACAR to make an appointment to pick up your Sentrilock card.
My card stopped working or was stolen
If your card is not working, you will need to call SentriLock to troubleshoot (877-736-8745).
If your card is physically damaged or was stolen, you may purchase a new card at AACAR (please call for fee).
How do you open a lockbox key compartment?
You can use the following instructions to access the key compartment of a lockbox:
1. Insert your SentriCard® into a lockbox. Wait until the CODE light displays, then press your PIN + ENT.
2. After you press PIN + ENT, the lockbox will display the READY light. You can either remove your card from the box or press FUNC + 3 + ENT to open the box.
(If the lockbox displays the steady CARD and ERROR lights, your SentriCard ® might be expired. You need to renew your SentriCard® if it is expired. If the lockbox displays the steady CARD light and your SentriCard® is valid, the lockbox’s internal clock needs to be updated.)
How do I reactivate my SentriLock card?
Any time your SentriCard® is expired, you just need to renew it at a SentriCard® Reader again. Once the SentriCard® is valid, it will work again for lockbox access. Your SentriCard® must be renewed in order to effectively upload any card files to the SentriLock Server. Only SentriCards® provide your Association or Board with the industry’s most advanced smart card technology. Any time a SentriCard® is expired, it will need to be renewed before it will work for lockbox access again. An expired SentriCard® does not require a reactivation fee.
What kind of batteries does a SentriLock lockbox use?
The GENI or GENII (silver) REALTOR® lockbox has an internal lithium battery, lithium type 2CR5 battery. Batteries are available for purchase at AACAR.
Note: Do not remove old batteries from a lockbox until you have a replacement in hand. Also, do not carry unpackaged batteries in your pocket or purse as metal objects could cause a short circuit and thereby cause bodily harm or property damage.
The NXT or NXT Wireless REALTOR® lockbox has internal lithium batteries. To replace the batteries in a NXT or NXT Wireless (blue) lockbox, you’ll need: 2 lithium type CR123A batteries. Contact your Association in regards to obtaining batteries for your lockbox. A Phillips head screwdriver is needed to remove the battery covers screws.
Note: If the lockbox shows no signs of activity and you cannot access the key compartment, the battery is dead. You can use a power paddle to provide a temporary charge to the lockbox and access the battery compartment. Contact your Association to obtain a power paddle.
How do I use SentriKey to get a mobile access code?
When you paid for your Sentrilock card you also received the ability to download an app to your Smart phone with your SentriLock ID and Password. Your instructions for downloading the app are provided for you at that time you receive your SentriCard.
How can I get additional Reciprocity areas on my SentriLock card?
Anne Arundel County Members can get Coastal Association (Ocean City and the Wicomico Co.) and Garrett County Association added to their SentriLock key cards by going to the Coastal and Garrett County websites for the paperwork.
Coastal Association members can get Anne Arundel County added to their SentriLock key cards by downloading and filling out the Coastal SentriLock Reciprocal Card Access Agreement and send to our Association with a copy of your license.
Garrett County Association members can get Anne Arundel County added to their SentriLock key cards by downloading and filling out the Garrett Reciprocal Card Access Agreement and send to our Association with a copy of your license.
Anne Arundel County members can have various Virginia areas added to their SentriLock key cards if they have a Virginia license. You will need to provide a copy of your Virginia license, download and complete this form, and send to our office for processing.
Members of York and Adams County in PA can have Anne Arundel County added to their Sentrilock key cards if they have a PA and MD license. Please download and fill out the SentriLock Reciprocal Card Access Agreement Reciprocity form and send to our Association with a copy of your PA license.
Eastern Panhandle members can get Anne Arundel County added to their SentriLock key cards by downloading and filling out the Eastern Panhandle SentriLock Reciprocal Card Access Agreement and send to our Association with a copy of your license.
Can an Unlicensed Assistant get a SentriLock card?
An unlicensed assistant can get a SentriLock card. Their first step is to download and fill out an Unlicensed Assistant Agreement and needs to be signed by the REALTOR® they are assisting. Then contact our office in a couple days and set up an appointment to get the card. There are certain guidelines they need to follow as an unlicensed assistant. They can only access the lockbox of the agent they are assisting and they can’t represent themselves as REALTORS®.
